Birthday Jewels

Liberty’s 5th Birthday is coming up soon..5 more days to be exact.  We haven’t bought any presents for her yet but have a few ideas.  Her birthday party this year will be a week after her birth-date so that gives me a little more time to get this gift I’ve been thinking about.  I want to start a tradition of giving her a piece of jewelry every year for her birthday.

I’ve never had much jewelry in my life.  Until recently I had one watch, (the same one I’ve worn on and off for the past 8 years), and a few necklaces and earrings.  Over the past few years I’ve accumulated more pieces of jewelry which I really love but still don’t have a ton.  Recently Libby wanted to explore my jewelry box and we found some of the bracelets she wore when she was a baby/toddler that I had saved.  One was a tiny pearl bracelet she wore on her blessing day.  One is a dainty silver heart clasp bracelet I always meant to have her initial engraved on, and another is the bracelet I bought her for her 1st birthday.  This one has swarovski crystals, pink beads, tiny pearls, and blocks that spell out her name.  She wore this one a lot and it really needs to be cleaned..the silver is tarnished.  She LOVED seeing the jewelry that was special to her.  It got me thinking about the jewelry I wore when I was younger.  I didn’t wear much, but my mom had a jewelry box I always loved with a few necklaces us girls all wore off and on.  Growing up my parents bought me a few really nice rings, necklaces, and chains that I’ve kept and cherish.  I hope to do the same for Liberty.

So I started perusing Etsy..my fave for one-of-a-kind jewelry and found a few options.  Which one(s) do you like?

Good job, Liz! I'm so excited that you've started this! And this way I'll keep up with you a bit more! In reading it, I hear your voice. I sure miss you and can't wait to see you next month!
I can see why you can't decide. These are all really different and beautiful. What a great idea. I'd like to do a bit of that for my girls too. I have a few cherished pieces from Mom and Dad too. :) xxoo

I can't believe little Libby is getting to be a big girl! I expect a birthday pic to be posted! :)

Thanks for your input guys..it was fun to hear what you liked. I ended up showing Libby this page and she pointed to the pink and purple bottlecap name necklace (shocker!) as her favorite, so I ended up buying that one for her for this year. Can't complain..it was by far the cheapest one!

That was the one that I was going to suggest before I read this! I thought it reminded me of pretty little Libby! Can't wait to see it!

Good choice. It is definitly cute and I'll think she'll enjoy it the most at her young age. :) Although I have to admit, I think Chloe would like it too. So, it could last quite a while.
