School's Out For Summer!

So today was Drex and Quin's last day of school. I can hardly believe the 2010-2011 school year is really over here in Missouri. That means we have lived here for almost a full year..that is crazy! Where did the time go? The craziest thing though is that in a matter of months it will be just me and Beaudie here at home while the older 3 are in school. That makes me feel old!! That will be so wierd too. I think we're gonna have a really fun summer though and I'm glad I won't HAVE to get up at 7 anymore to get the boys to school...and it will be nice to spend more time with them.

So far we don't have a ton of plans. We do have Six Flags passes so hope to go there whenever we are bored, and we have a super fun Broadbent family reunion planned for July. My sister Rachel is coming out here for a full 3 weeks in July..so that will be awesome...and we get a short visit from our Blackburn/Sousa family in a couple weeks while they take a rest from driving across country...so excited to see them!

It is sorta hard to believe it is summer really..it hasn't gotten really hot yet and we've had horrible rain and thunderstorms lately...and apparently May and June are tornado season out here in the midwest so true to form this is the worst tornado season anyone here has ever seen! This year has been a wild weathered one here in Missouri so they say. We are starting to wonder why anyone would choose to settle down out here..lol. Hopefully the weather will soon CALM DOWN so we can enjoy the Missouri everyone knows and loves.

I've been busy getting things crossed off my to-do list lately..always something to do and more. Hopefully I can share some of the things I do in my spare time with you. I love decorating and crafting, occasionally cooking and just about everything else. Hopefully I can keep this book blogging this time. What did you do for teacher gifts this year? I searched in blogland and was able to find 2 things I thought would be cute and easy to do. Here's what I ended up doing: 1)mod-podge cute paper onto mini clip-boards, paper and pen to go with. 2)hot glue crayons onto a frame and took a photo of the school for the picture. Here are photos of the finished products:
